U.S. Marines battle Japanese in Pacific. Marines train in the U.S. Marines train to climb up and down cargo nets into assault boats. Marines practice beachhead landing under live fire and explosions. Marines land and set up an operations post somewhere in the Pacific.
Admiral Byrd is with landing party as Tribal Chiefs come to greet the officers.

News from the United States. Women make dirigibles (Blimps or air ships) used as aerial submarine hunters. Gondola with motors is wheeled in and attached to Blimp. Shows finished air ship in hangar, in flight, and over the ocean.

Arkansas. A 550-mile oil pipeline is laid from Texas to Illinois. Excellent footage of men and construction equipment laying an oil pipeline.

Maine. Ships are built in in 48 days. Six cargo ships and two destroyers are launched from one ship yard within 24-hours.

New Jersey. Children of German born parents attend a children’s camp in New Jersey. Children salutes American flag waving in the breeze. Boy does back-flip into camp pool as other children watch.

America’s First All-Filipino Army. Philippine soldiers train in California.

The Flying Tigers in China become part of the Army Air Forces. Wings and insignias are presented to the airmen. Shows General Chennault, Commander of all flying forces in China. “Red Ball” is raised signaling “Flying Tiger” pilots to scramble to their P-40 Warhawk fighters to intercept enemy planes. P-40s take off three abreast. Formation of P-40s with shark teeth nose art on each plane.
