The American Youth Congress.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, addresses the American Youth Congress (AYC) at the White House and gets scant applause as he denounces the Soviet Union (Russian) invasion of Finland and tells the group that American sympathy is 98 percent in favor of the Finns.
The American Youth Congress (AYC) was a coalition of youth organizations, especially college student governments that were under Communist control. Seabiscuit Beaten On Coast
Arcadia, California. The famed “Wonder Horse” Seabiscuit comes back to the turf after a year’s lay-off, and is beaten in a courageous attempt to regain his crown. 17,000 fans at Santa Anita race track see Seabiscuit come in third, with Heelfly the winner February 9, 1940.
