Liberandos, 1943
“Operation Soapsuds,” Ploesti oil fields in Romania. These reels consist almost exclusively of aerial photographs, maps, and briefing sessions at which errors made in the previous bombing raid on Ploesti oil fields in Romania are pointed out to the airmen who are to make the second raid.
The code name of second raid was later changed from “Operation Soapsuds,” to “operation Tidal Wave” and was conducted on Sunday August 1, 1943 which later became known as “Black Sunday” due to the heavy losses of aircraft and flight crews.
