General Clark Signs Truce,
Panmunjom Korea 06-27-1953

Unedited footage Panmunjom Korea. The armistice signed on July 27, 1953 formally ended the Korean war. The armistice, while it stopped hostilities, was not a permanent treaty between nations. U.S. Lt. General William K. Harrison, Senior Delegate, United Nations Command Delegation, and two aides enter hall, take seats in front row nearest tables. Communist officer enters hall. Officers seated at two separate tables, General Nam II, Senior Delegate, Delegation of the Korean People’s Army and Chinese People’s Volunteers, sign official copies of the Tri-language Korean Armistice Agreement as they are placed before them. LS, General Harrison and staff leave hall. LS, MS Honor Guard lined up in front of building at Panmunjom. Included are a Chinese soldier and North Korean soldier. Honor Guards. General Harrison arrives, walks down aisle between Honor Guard accompanied by aides and two MPs. They enter building for signing of the truce. General Harrison and aides walk away from building after truce is signed. CU, Armistice agreement folders. Communist aides stand at side of truce table. Note: last footage overexposed, no discernible subject.
