Mortar fire, tanks, and machine gun fire at Japanese positions south of Naha Airfield on Okinawa June 8, 1945. Japanese children removed from cave-like concealment, wounded Japanese woman removed on litter. Japanese soldiers captured. Soldier inspect destroyed Japanese artillery emplacement. Marines struggles moving 37mm gun up hill into firing position. Shows 37mm gun firing. Two Marines take cover behind tank. Shows group of Okinawan men and wounded Japanese soldier. Captured Japanese soldiers under Marine guard. Shows Stinson L-5 Sentinel plane landing on road. Wounded loaded on-board in litter, plane takes off. The “L-Bird Grasshopper” lands and picks up another wounded Marine.
